By: Jim Favor

Hair loss has been afflicting mankind for a long time and there have been many experimental remedies that have been tried to try to grow back our hair. Our hair is important to us and one of the ways to try to get our hair back is through the use of topical solutions.

This article will present a couple of options that you can use in order to best select what might work for you.

Topical solutions have been tried with a number of home made remedy solutions, ointments and various kinds to be used as treatments for hair loss by applying them to your scalp in the hopes of regrowing hair.

The ways and means of the solutions that were used went beyond imagination. In ancient times, Egyptians concocted the use of oils and fats from various animals onto their scalps as a solution for their hair loss. these animals were across the spectrum that you could imagine. Try animals like lions, crocodiles, serpents, birds and any other type of animal that they would rub the fat from these animals onto their heads trying to regrow their hair.

Sounds crazy but that's what they did and that's at what length what people will go through in order to regain their hair.

These days’ people are still desperate to get their hair back but there's a better controlled way to get your hair to grow back. There are a multitude of topical type drugs available for the consumer today but it’s better to get the advice from your physician on which exact topical solution will best fit your situation.

So the question still remains which topical solution will allow you to grow your hair back?

One of the most commonly prescribed topical solutions is Minoxidil and Rogaine. These medications are approved by the FDA and have been proven through studies that they do work for some people.

The reason that they work is because these medications stimulate the scalp hair follicles to quickly grow new cells needed for hair growth. These medications have to be put on your scalp religiously on a daily basis in order for your hair to grow back.

These topical solutions may irritate your scalp and that's why it's not a 100% cure for regrowing hair. People that have health concerns such as high blood pressure or any type of heart disease should avoid the use of topical solutions because of unknown risks to their health.

These topical solutions can also be introduced through the use of shampoos instead of ointment based prescriptions. Research shows that topical hair loss treatments using this type of method is gentler to the scalp and causes less irritation than the typical ointment plan.

So the bottom line is to find out from your physician which topical solution you are most likely to have success with and go with that recommendation.
