Tips For Using The Iphone Touch Screen Keyboard

Every time that you have a new technology it requires you to learn how to use it. However, this can sometimes be extremely difficult, especially when there aren't very many resources to help you learn new techniques. A great example of this is with the new Apple iPhone. When you first purchase an iPhone, than you have probably spent many hours getting familiar with the various technologies that are inside this amazing cell phone, however, there are some tips that aren't learned by simply playing around with the phone. In order to learn about these tips, than you must first learn them, and one of the best tips concerns the keyboard.
With something as unique as the touch screen keyboard that the iPhone uses there are quite a few things that you need to be aware of. Learning these things will help you enter your messages very quickly and without any efforts. Once you've mastered using the touch screen keyboard you'll be typing messages faster and easier than you ever imagined. One thing that confuses people at first is that when you want to enter a letter you tap on it but the letter does not go onto the screen until you lift your finger off.
This is actually a very good idea. When using a computer keyboard if you press the wrong key you need to hit backspace and then type in the correct letter. With the iPhone you can simply slide across to the correct letter and lift off your finger to place it on the screen. Once you get used to this you will see how much of a time saver it is.
Many people have found that the auto-correction feature within the keyboard is a great way to keep your writing clear and easy. However, it is very easy to accept a word that you didn't want to type. If you want to steer clear from this confusion than you need to learn how to accept and reject a suggested word. When you want to accept a word than you will want to tap either return, space or tap a punctuation mark. However, if you want to reject a suggested word, than you will simply want to finish typing the word you want and then you will have to tap the completed word.
By writing out the same word two times and them tapping both of them you can add the word to the dictionary so it will be recognized and suggested in the future. Normally you can expect it to take a couple of weeks to fully train your iPhone with your most common words but once you've done that you'll find that typing will be very quick and easy.
If you need to type a capital letter you can tap the shift key and then the letter you want to write. If you want to write a full word in capitals there is a way to avoid doing this for every letter. If you go into the settings and tap general and then keyboard you'll see an "Enable Caps Lock" option. If you switch this on then double tapping the shift key will switch over to caps lock mode and you can then write a your word in all capitals.
