Time Management and Internet Marketing

By: Chris Lees

There are so many things to learn when you first embark on Internet Marketing journey. You have to be able to set up a blog or website first of all. This is really a tough thing to do as I think most newbies would agree. Then you have to figure out how to purchase a domain name. I know of a few noobs who actually quit at this point because the figured that if they can't even do something basic like purchasing a domain name, they feel overwhelmed by the thoughts of how much they need to learn.

Then if you make it past the very beginning and you have a blog or website, and you know how to purchase a domain name you still have so much to learn. It is confusing when so many different sites that teach you how to make money online teach contradicting methods. It's just more information to sort through.

I remember when I first started researching how to make money online I spent more time trying to figure out where to learn the actually learning. Then once I figured out where to learn I spent more time learning than doing. What a mountain to climb! Eventually if you seek the correct information you will find it though and then it is your job to start applying what you have learned.

I would have to say that time management is one of the topics that is not discussed as often as it should be. Time management is the real killer in online marketing. Do you spend your time posting in forums three times a day to drive traffic? Are you checking your stats every ten minutes? Are you checking Clickbank every ten minutes to see if you have made any money? If you are doing these things then you are also probably checking your email every half hour and wasting time reading all the spam that the so called gurus keep sending.

I would really like to make this as simple as possible especially for you newbies out there. Let me sum it all up like this. Don't waste your time NOT building your network! You should be building and building. Build links everyday and you will not be wasting your time. This is so simple yet so underestimated. Links are what get your site ranked for your keywords and that is how we get paid. It is very simple.

Think of all the time that some folks spend at stumble and digg and other social sites. They are always trying to build a readership that they can sell their lousy ebooks to. This is such a waste of time. You can make money online much faster and easier by setting up simple 5 page blogs or sites that you promote like crazy. Again, this advice has been given before but it is not the prevailing wisdom...fortunately. I say fortunately because if everyone was actually following this sound advice then that would mean much more competition for me! I don't want that at all.

But still, truth be told to the newbies: get links and build your network.
