The iPod Nano Is Sleek, Easy And Paramount For Rockin' Out
By: Vin DeWolfe
For a good part of my life I've been using awkward electronics, like portable CD players and chunky MP3 radio players that get in the way of easy movement. Never since I have begun listening to music on the go have I come across something as great as this little gizmo!
Instead of discovering ways to carry a CD player without looking like an idiot, I can just slide my iPod in my pocket and not even feel it. It's so light that it's great to take along with me when I'm exercising or cleaning house.
The controls are simple and obvious and the user-friendly features, such as pausing the music when your earphones come disconnected, really make it easy to jam.
In spite of the easy usage, the protection is excellent on these small units. I have the choice to lock the iPod with a combination if I am leaving it someplace in my bag or something so no one can get use it. Besides, if somebody was to get into it, they would have to reset the whole affair to sync it to their iTunes library. It also cannot be used with a Mac if it's been synced with a Win computer, and vice versa.
My best-loved features include the "hold" button that prevents me from stopping or changing the song accidentally if the iPod is in my pants pocket. Also the ability to have a look at my play list while still listening to my current song is a great benefit to have.
At this point, I've stuffed 170 or so songs into the little thing and still have over 2 Gig to go! Every tune can be put into a section depending on the musician. At the same time, all my songs can go into one play list and be listened to one-after-the-other. That's more than I can boast for the "vintage" MP3/FM player I used for a few years before eventually getting an iPod.
I also like that I have the choice to set up multiple clocks for different countries; seeing what time it is in Tokyo, Japan is something I like. As for song transfer, it could not be simpler. I can also charge my iPod on my laptop while loading a few more tunes or vids into my iTunes library: a big double thumbs-up for multitasking!
The only thing I kind of do not like is the want of external tech support. I'm unable to reset my iPod without it being linked to the computer. I had some difficulty with getting it out of reboot mode a few days back and it took a while to figure out how to actually do it.
Otherwise, I really couldn't be more delighted with this piece of technology and I recommend it for anyone who loves their entertainment on the go.
