These days the technology of geothermal energy has shifted to residential markets and commercial places which were earlier limited only to industrial projects and other big corporations. There are numerous ways to extract geothermal energy. The most popular and the common way to extract geothermal energy are through hot water system and geothermal heating. In the countries like Norway, Sweden and Iceland geothermal is the cheapest way to get hot water through the geothermal piping which are linked to efficient energy boilers.
Hundreds of meters of pipes which run under the land are used to deliver water. Cold water is rushed from the start point and when it reaches to the end it becomes comparatively warmer. Geothermal plant at your house will require less energy to heat the water saving much of your bill. So, the technology used to get the geothermal energy saves lots of money. These days numerous new buildings and tenements are acquiring the technology to generate geothermal energy. Under floor heating is generally preferred by the businesses and homes to get geothermal energy. This helps to heat home and office to a certain extents which helps to reduce bills. By doing this you also save the environment and not only the bills.
It is believed with the evidences found in the North America that geothermal energy was used by the Paleo-Indians some ten thousand year back who were settled near the geothermal energy springs. The geothermal energy springs produce heat and purifies using the minerals which is a source of therapeutic healing. People prefer to get soak in the heated pools which comes from the earth’s core. There are many companies which are finding ways to get geothermal energy deep from the earth’s core. Experts say that the United States of America can get energy up to ten percent of its total consumption by 2050 which right now gets only 0.3 percentages.
Geothermal energy is a heat which is retrieved from the depths of the earth’s crust. This heat is blocked in the liquid and rock occupied by the pores and cracks. It is believed by the scientists that earth must be in the liquid in the starting period and then must have gradually cooled with sun as only a source of energy. It is also believed that the source of the geothermal energy is radioactive decay which is deep under the earth’s crust.
In the North America itself Humans have utilized the geothermal energy for more than ten thousand years. The tribe Paleo-American Indian used geothermal energy to cook food, for relief and for sanctuary. Geothermal springs were used to be considered as the neutral areas where the fighting nations would bath in it for the serenity. The temperature of the geothermal springs can vary from ninety degree centigrade to more than one hundred and fifty degree centigrade. The Geothermal springs which have surprisingly high temperatures are used to produce geothermal energy and the spring which have moderate to little high temperatures are open for public. United States produces around 2200MW from all the geothermal springs.
