The Cure for Worry And Anxiety?

By: Charles T. Winnbaker.

We seem to live in very anxious times, there's no doubt about that. Everytime one opens the newspaper or tunes into any news broadcast, there seems to be something terrible going on. This is not only around the world, but in your local area as well.

No matter what people's situation is they wonder what is the cure for worry and anxiety as they are plagued with it. For many of us, even though our lives can be quite stable and predictable, it seems that it can change in a blink of an eye.

While people search for cure for worry and anxiety, they many times turn to artificial means to calm their nerves or to help them to forget their troubles. These artificial means are things like gambling, drugs, dangerous sports or the most usual of them all, alcohol.

Alcohol is not the cure for worry and anxiety many people think and hope it is. It can certainly make you feel at the top of the world while you are "buzzed", bit tipsy or totally drunk for a few moments, even few hours at best.

You feel that there are no problems in the world and you may feel a great rush of euphoria. Unfortunately, all this is very short lived. That great buzz wears off very fast and you'll get sober. Then what? The cure for worry and anxiety that you drank the night before has left you and it seems all you are left with are a whole new set of problems you need to deal with.

Persons who drink regularly are often plagued with issues that only add to their concerns. They may spend a lot of money on alcohol, so much that they can't pay other bills or provide for their families.

They may say or do stupid or dangerous things when they're drunk. They may hurt someone else. The cure for worry and anxiety that they thought was in that bottle has proven to be a false sense of security, and has made their situation much worse than before.

If you are overwhelmed with these issues and concerns, rather than turn to various artificial means, it might be a good idea to see a counselor. There are many areas that offer free mental health and other types of counceling. It may not seem very glamorous and hop, but it can certainly be more effective and will not leave you with worse problems that you begin with.
