Social Anxiety - One of the most familiar forms of panic attack

If one suffers from social anxiety, it's very common that he or she suffers from panic attacks as well. These two terms are not well known by most people and they are often confused, many times thought to be synonyms.

A panic attack does not happen only in social anxiety related cases. Panic attacks can be triggered by a multitude of events and social anxiety is an experience of fear or worry linked with social situations and evaluation by other individuals.

Social anxiety can be experienced in a variety of ways. To put it simply, different people might have different reactions to public speaking, interviews or various performances held in a surrounding filled with people.

The most usual one stands in panic attacks and a person can have numerous psychological experiences, sweating and blushing being the most common ones. A person can also experience cognitive components, for example looking for signs of disapproval or behavioral components like avoiding all sorts of that kind of situations completely. One can experience all sorts of difficulties with social interaction when suffering from socail anxiety.

As there is always a fear that the person suffering from anxiety can get embarrassed again following panic attacks become very unpredictable. If the anxiety attacks is social anxiety one can experience breathing problems, accerelated heart rate, feeling dizzy and confused and also having problems to concentrate.

Commonly as these things happen every once in a while, the person who is suffering from them gets more and more worried that they will happen again. This makes the problem worse and at the worst case, the individual starts avoiding social contats altogether. However, luckily social anxiety problems with panic attacks can be treated these days. There are lots of experts that can help and that can show the person great ways to treat the problem.

The first step that needs to be done is becoming aware of the condition and asking for help. This rarely happens and the majority of people suffering from social anxiety driven panic attacks will say nothing about it and will try to avoid similar situations like the one that triggered the event.

It is very important to ask for help and go to a specialist that can bring your life back on track. There have been cases of individuals suffering from social anxiety that eventually became very good public speakers.
