Orlando Vacation Homes

By: Michiel Van Kets

Orlando and Disney world go together like peas in a pot. That’s why most tourists and visitors come to Orlando for one reason only, the amusement parks! Location, location, location is not just important for you own house or business but also for your accommodation during your holiday. If you don’t have three weeks off then it’s impossible to see each and every park and because you would want to see as many as possible in the time you’ve got you don’t want to be too far from the action! Otherwise, be prepared to either get up very early in the mornings to get there or sit in the car for long journeys with your kids asking ‘Are we there yet’?

You probably think that booking a motel or hotel in Orlando will be an easy and cheap option, however, if you want a decent hotel close to the attractions, you will find the rates are much higher and the closer you get the more they will cost and that’s not all. What about food? Add the cost of that to your hotel, as you will either have to eat there or at restaurants in the parks every day which can push up the bill rocket high. Another consideration is that if you’re travelling with more then two people is that room space will be limited and you will have to share one, two or even three hotel rooms. Also hotels can be very noisy and you can forget about privacy!

When you are researching your trip to Orlando one of the most important decisions you have to make is the type of accommodation, hotel, motel, vacation home, location, pool or no pool and the list continues. Certain factors will dictate your preference such as how many people are in your group and budget.

There is a great and luxurious alternative to hotel accommodation and that’s staying in a vacation home. Your friends, colleagues or family will have plenty more space to live in and spread out their belongings and if privacy is needed you can take yourself off to your own room. Some have up to 6 bedrooms so everyone can stay under one roof without having to make schedules with who showers when.

You might have not heard about it and might be surprised to find out that most vacation rentals come with a private swimming pool and your own BBQ area. Talk about luxury! Also if the weather is not working with you or you just don’t feel like going out of the door one day, you can easily relax at “home”. You could take a dip in the pool, catch some vitamin D, watch TV or have a BBQ and cocktails. Handy at night too, you can relax and chill out with a glass of wine and a home cooked meal. During this precious time you can relax and energize your self to be ready for the next roller coaster ride!

If you take the price of a rental home and divide it by the number of people that you are travelling with, you will see it works out a lot better for you bank account as well. To make an easy calculation put 10 people in a hotel of let say $100 per night. This will come down to $1000 per night while a 5 bedroom villa with private swimming pool in the high season will cost you $239 per day!

When searching for a vacation home don’t just go with the first one you find. Check a few out before you make any choices. Many of the vacation rental homes in Orlando are decorated in a modern style and have all the comfort of your own home. You can get some amazing deals if you do some research first because the perfect vacation home with a private swimming pool, tasteful furnishings and individuality is certainly not hard to find.

Your trip to Florida will be what you and the people you travel with make of it. You don’t go on a vacation that often therefore quality time with your family is precious and choosing a vacation rental for this private time with them makes sense, for your family and your wallet, a win win situation!
