Looking after your pet cat

Cats are tremendous, captivating and loving pets that provide a lot of delight and amusement. There are a few issues that you must know about looking after your cat friend.

Cats became domestic over five thousand years ago, this took place when humans embarked on agriculture and required cats to subdue rats and other rodents both in grain containing areas and at home. Cats are related to tigers, bobcats, mountain lions and lions.

If you do not want your cat scratching up and sharpening their claws on articles on furniture you will require a durable scratching post. If your cat or kitten begins clawing on your piece of furniture, tell it no in a firm voice and lead it to the scratching post then praise them when they begin to use it.

Cats enjoy themselves with playthings in particular ones that jump about and seem realistic. It can be good entertainment playing with your cat or kitten so test a few toys and determine which ones they prefer.

There are a couple of differences between possessing a cat for a pet than a dog. Contrary to dogs cats do not require bathing; it will pass a great deal of their day preening themselves and keeping extremely well groomed. Cats do not inevitably call for going outdoors; they may live inside rather comfortably as long as you provide food, water, a litter box, some toys and a comfy bed.
