Free Tips on Coping During A Panic Attack

Your mental power is one of the best ways to deal with a panic attack and many times it's power is actually underestimated.
Simply stating positive words or affirmations when you feel the panic attack coming can be hugely beneficial. You don't even have to believe those words, just start stating them as facts. It's not really important what words you are using, as long as it's positive and they take your focus away from the panic attack.
On the other hand it is recommended that you use positive phrases like "Everything will be ok in just a second" or "It's going away, I feel better".
The problem is that many will give in and start think about the panic attack and the possibility of getting an attack for longer periods of time. This in turn will make panic attacks worse and it's of utmost importance that you take your mind off it as much as possible and direct it somewhere else.
Not everyone can master breathing techniques but telling yourself positive phrases is a great alternative that can be very efficient both when you are learning other methods to deal with panic attacks or when you simply have to do something to solve the problem.
There are of course different other ways to treat panic attacks, like Yoga, but why make things more complicated when the problem can be solved on the spot just by having a dialogue in your brain, between you and yourself!
One way that did work in several cases of panic attack patients is to purchase medication for the condition. As you start feeling that the panic attack is coming you can start focusing on the pills.
One should start thinking whether to take them or not and also find pro's and con's of this situation. This helps to move the focus away from the panic attack to the issue whether to take drugs or not and this focus shift alone can be very beneficial in cancelling the panic attack altogether. You should always congratulate yourself after not taking the pills.
Thinking positive words or affirmations is not necessarily easy before or during a panic attack and dealing with this situation can be hard, but after practise you can eliminate attacks in many cases with just simple inner dialogue. It takes some time to practise the skill, but it's worth it!
You might not succeed from the first or second try, but eventually you will learn that all sorts of positive thoughts and affirmations are extremely effective when dealing with panic attacks.
