Are you a caffeine addict like me? The smell of brewed coffee can really awaken the senses. But people will start feeling the effects more after sipping because this is when the effects of coffee truly happen.

What exactly are the effects of coffee? Studies have shown this can boost someone's vigilance, improve performance and concentration. Inside you body, this means a heart rate increase, blood pressure and basal metabolic rate. It will also promote urine production and can help relax muscle tension. It is the reason why that many use coffee while studying for an exam, to help waking up in the morning or work during night shifts.

Caffeine is the main ingredient in coffee. Research shows that it is safe to have one or two cups per day. However, those who exceed this can endure the negative effects that include difficulty sleeping, headaches, irregular heartbeat, muscle tension and nausea. This can also lead to ulcer or heartburn, which is why specialists also advise people to drink moderately.

Coffee isn't good for women who are pregnant or patients who have heart disease and they should not consume it because it could cause birth defects or other health problems.

But those who drink coffee can also experience the same effects by having substances that contain caffeine. Examples of these are tea, sodas and chocolates.

Coffee might not make the individual do a foolish thing which is usually associated with the use of illegal substances or alcohol. But it can be habit forming. Those who drink coffee regularly and abruptly stop may experience what is called a withdrawal effects that will fade away after a day or two when they are able to once again have a cup of coffee.

But coffee has been known to prevent certain diseases. For instance, Java works as an anti-depressant, now that is definitely what we can call good effects of coffee. The chances of developing Parkinson's disease in men is lessen by other types of coffee even if physicians are not sure yet of what is the cause of this disease.

In almost every household, coffee is being consumed. It can be purchased from the store or brewed at home or in the office.

The effects of coffee has on people can be different with another depending on how the body reacts to the caffeine so when the individual feels this is enough, it is time to stop rather than feeling the negative effects of consuming too much. Nonetheless it is hard to beat a good cup of coffee in the morning. But since I want to better take care of my health I will try to drink a bit less coffee and start drinking some green tea during the day. Well like I said at least I will try.
