Playing aggressively with your dog can promote biting. Chasing and tugging games may be fun, but can encourage the dog to engage in aggressive behavior. Teasing a dog is never advisable. A bite may result from frustration or thinking that you are going to take away one of their possessions.
Socializing your dog is highly important. This is best done when the animal is young and more adaptable. Have the dog spend time around kids and take him or her to various places outside the home.
